About This Model

The Allen & Heath ZED-16FX is a 16-channel analog mixing console combining a built-in USB 2.0 audio interface with an onboard digital effects processor. It features 10 DuoPre microphone preamps delivering up to 69 dB of gain, with global 48V phantom power for condenser microphones. Mono channels carry a 3-band swept mid EQ with MusiQ variable-Q technology, while stereo channels offer 2-band EQ. The onboard DSP engine provides 16 effects including reverbs, delays, chorus and flanger, with a TAP button for setting delay tempo. Four aux sends, 10 channel inserts, and a comprehensive I/O complement - including 10 XLR mic inputs, multiple TRS line inputs, dual RCA inputs and outputs, and both 1/4" and 1/8" headphone outputs - make it a flexible hub for live mixing and studio tracking. The USB connection enables 2x2 stereo recording and playback at 16-bit/48kHz on Mac and Windows, and all 16 channels are controlled via ALPS 100mm faders.
