About this model
The Alesis Monitor One MK2 is a passive studio monitor, requiring an external amplifier to operate. Each cabinet houses a 6.5" mineral-filled polypropylene woofer with a damped rubber surround paired with a 1" pure silk-dome tweeter, crossed over at 2 kHz via 2nd-order 12 dB/octave filters. The design targets a flat, accurate frequency response of 45 Hz-20 kHz (±3 dB) and is rated at 4 ohms nominal impedance. The 5/8" MDF cabinet uses vinyl laminate with a thicker 1" MDF front baffle, and the drivers are magnetically shielded - useful near CRT monitors or computer displays. Connectivity is via 5-way binding posts accepting speaker wire, banana plugs, or spade plugs.
