About This Model
The Alesis Micron is a compact virtual analog modeling synthesizer released in 2004, built around a DSP-based sound engine running at 24-bit resolution. Each of its 8 voices is generated from 3 digital oscillators and shaped by 2 multimode digital filters, 2 LFOs, and 3 envelopes, giving it a deep and flexible synthesis architecture in a small footprint. The 37-key velocity-sensitive keyboard uses synth action, and the unit supports 8-part multitimbrality alongside a built-in sequencer, arpeggiator, 500 RAM patch slots, and 200 rhythm patterns. Three DSP effects sections cover chorus, flanger, phaser, vocoder, delay, and reverb. Connectivity includes MIDI In/Out/Through, stereo line outputs, a headphone jack, an external signal input for vocoding or processing, and both damper and expression pedal inputs.
