About This Model

The Alesis M1 Active 520 is a 2-way, bi-amplified active near-field reference monitor delivering 75 watts of total power — 50W to the 5-inch polypropylene woofer and 25W to the 3/4-inch silk dome tweeter — with a frequency response spanning 56 Hz to 20 kHz. Both balanced XLR and 1/4-inch TRS inputs are provided, making it easy to connect to a range of audio interfaces and mixers. An Acoustic Space control switch and high, mid, and low EQ switches allow the speaker to be tuned to the room's acoustics, while the rear port design aids low-frequency extension. Magnetic shielding means the monitors can be placed close to CRT video displays without interference — a practical consideration in a traditional studio setup.
