About This Model

The AKG D5 is an end-address handheld dynamic microphone built around AKG's patented laminated Varimotion diaphragm, which extends frequency response from 70 Hz to 20,000 Hz while handling high sound pressure levels up to 156 dB. Its supercardioid pickup pattern provides strong off-axis rejection, making it well suited to live vocal performance on busy stages. A dual shock mount system minimises handling noise, and an integrated pop filter helps control plosives without the need for an external screen. The rugged die-cast housing, passive operation via standard 3-pin XLR, and a self-noise floor of 18 dB-A round out a microphone designed for demanding live use.
