The AKG C3000B is a large-diaphragm back-electret condenser microphone built around a one-inch capsule with a fixed cardioid polar pattern. Its frequency response runs from 20Hz to 20kHz, shaped with a presence peak and a high-mid dip that suits vocals and acoustic instruments. Sensitivity sits at 25mV/Pa with a 200-ohm output impedance, and the mic handles up to 140dB SPL — rising to 150dB with the switchable 10dB pad engaged. A 75Hz low-cut filter helps tame rumble and proximity effect. Equivalent input noise is 25dB unweighted (14dB A-weighted), giving a dynamic range of 126dB. The body is constructed with a zinc cage featuring a coarse outer mesh and finer inner mesh, and the XLR connector uses gold-plated pins.
