About this model
The Paiste 505 China Type is an 18-inch cymbal produced between 1983 and 1986 as part of the wider 505 series, which ran from 1978 to 1986 out of Switzerland. It is made from CuSn8 alloy - the same bronze formula used in Paiste's 2002 line - and weighs approximately 1203g. The cymbal delivers a bold, trashy attack with a raw, aggressive character, a strong dark tone, and a quick decay, making it well suited to cutting through a mix with authority. Its traditional golden finish is typical of the era.
