About this model

The Yamaha KX88 is a fully dedicated MIDI controller built around 88 full-sized, velocity-sensitive keys with a weighted, piano-like action and monophonic aftertouch - making it one of the more substantial master keyboard controllers of its era. It carries no internal sound engine of its own, functioning purely as a controller driving external synthesizers and sound modules via MIDI IN and MIDI OUT. Its 19 performance controllers - including four sliders, five momentary switches, two toggle switches, and two wheels - are all fully programmable and assignable to any MIDI control code. Split and Dual modes allow simultaneous transmission on two MIDI channels, and additional inputs are provided for two footswitches, two foot controllers, and a breath controller. The unit is built around an all-steel chassis and weighs approximately 30 kg, reflecting its professional-grade, road-ready construction. One known quirk reported by users is that velocity output is limited to a range of 15-127 rather than the full 0-127.

A great opportunity to own a Yamaha KX88 at this price point.
