About This Model

The Technics ST-G460 is a quartz synthesizer AM/FM stereo tuner covering FM (87.50-108.00 MHz), MW, and LW bands. Its quartz synthesizer engine delivers precise, drift-free tuning across 39 randomly accessible preset memory channels, with auto-scan and auto-memory functions for quick station management. FM performance is strong, with a signal-to-noise ratio of 72 dB mono / 65 dB stereo, harmonic distortion of just 0.05% mono, stereo separation of 50 dB at 1 kHz, and a capture ratio of 1.0 dB. The frequency response extends from 4 Hz to 15 kHz, aided by Technics' DC construction and a DC Linear Switching MPX filter that reduces distortion and broadens dynamic range. A Class AA output amplifier stage handles signal transfer, while a large FL fluorescent display with FM signal strength indicator makes tuning straightforward. At 430 × 69 × 288 mm and 2.5 kg, it fits neatly into a standard hi-fi rack.
