About This Model

The TEAC CD-RW890MkII is a standalone CD recorder capable of recording to CD-R and CD-RW discs, as well as playing back CD-RW, CD-R, and standard audio CDs. It accepts both analogue RCA and digital optical (TOS) inputs for recording, and outputs via analogue RCA alongside a front-panel 6.35mm headphone jack with dedicated volume control. An FL display with level meter keeps signal monitoring straightforward, while an auto sampling rate converter handles incoming digital sources cleanly. Playback features include program playback across up to 32 tracks, repeat modes (single, all, and A-B), and shuffle playback. Audio performance specifications include a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz and total harmonic distortion of 0.05% or less. The unit ships with an infra-red remote control (RC-1275) and is now a discontinued model, making well-kept examples increasingly hard to find.
