About This Model
The TEAC A-3300SX is a stereo reel-to-reel tape recorder introduced in 1976, built around a three-head configuration - separate erase, record, and playback heads - which allows for true off-tape monitoring during recording sessions. It operates at 3¾ ips and 7½ ips tape speeds, accommodates reels up to 10.5 inches, and delivers a frequency response of 30Hz to 28kHz at 7½ ips with a signal-to-noise ratio of 58dB. The 4-track, 2-channel layout supports both stereo and monaural operation, and the deck accepts line-level and microphone inputs alongside a line output. At 20kg and 440 x 440 x 210mm, it is a substantial, full-format machine suited to serious home studio use and high-quality tape archiving.
