About This Model

The Tandberg TT1220 is a professional MPEG-2 DVB Integrated Receiver Decoder (IRD) designed for broadcast and professional distribution environments. It decodes single-channel DVB signals via a factory-selectable input - either QPSK L-Band RF, COFDM RF (supporting 6, 7, or 8 MHz UHF bandwidths), or DVB-ASI (188 or 204 byte). Video output is provided as analogue composite (625 or 525 lines) with an optional Serial Digital Video (SDI) output, while audio is covered by analogue outputs, S/PDIF (IEC 60958 at 44.1/48 kHz), and AC-3 downmix or passthrough. Additional connectivity includes an RS-232 data port and alarm relay output, and the unit supports a range of Conditional Access modules including DVB CI, NDS VideoGuard, and BSkyB variants. Built for unattended operation, it features a 2×20 character backlit LCD for local menu navigation and a full-range auto-sensing power supply operating from 100 to 240 Vac, 50-60 Hz. The firmware is software upgradeable, extending the unit's operational lifespan.
