About this model

The Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar Bass Special SS is a short-scale electric bass with a 30-inch scale length, 4 inches shorter than the standard 34-inch bass scale, which suits players with smaller hands and gives a warmer, softer low end. It has an agathis body, a maple neck with a "C" profile and satin finish, and a rosewood fretboard with 20 medium-jumbo frets. The P/J pickup layout pairs a split-coil Precision Bass pickup in the middle with a single-coil Jazz Bass pickup at the bridge, controlled by passive electronics with two volume knobs and a master tone knob. This is the only short-scale Jaguar bass in the Squier line, and the P-style pickup is widely noted for strong low-end definition.
