About This Model
The Sony RDR-HXD890 is a DVD/HDD recorder built around a 160 GB hard drive capable of storing up to 455 hours of footage at extended recording quality. It features a built-in DVB-T digital terrestrial tuner alongside analogue tuner support, and outputs include HDMI with 1080p upscaling and BRAVIA Sync compatibility, component video, S-Video, composite, coaxial digital audio, and a SCART output. On the input side it accepts composite, S-Video, iLINK (DV), and RGB via SCART, making it a flexible hub for capturing from legacy sources. The unit supports simultaneous recording and playback, and can handle DVD+R/RW, DVD-R/RW, DVD-RAM, CD-R/RW, DivX, MP3, and JPEG formats.
