About This Model
The Shure A85F is a passive line matching transformer designed to connect a low-impedance balanced microphone (via female 3-pin XLR) to a high-impedance unbalanced line input (via male 1/4" phone plug). It requires no batteries or phantom power, and delivers 24 dB of signal increase in the process. It can also be used in reverse. Note that it is not intended for connection to balanced line-level outputs.
