About this model

The Rogers LS3/5A is a 2-way compact loudspeaker developed to the original BBC specification, built around an 11 cm Bextrene bass/midrange cone driver and a 19 mm Mylar dome tweeter, crossed over at 3 kHz. Its 15-ohm impedance and 82.5 dB/W/m sensitivity reflect the demanding BBC broadcast monitoring brief from which it was born. The crossover network is a notably complex BBC-designed circuit using laminated transformer-cored inductors and silver soldering, contributing to the speaker's precise and revealing character. A rectangular felt strip surrounds the tweeter to reduce diffraction. At 305 × 190 × 165 mm and 4.9 kg per cabinet, these are genuinely compact monitors that benefit from amplification in the 30-80 watt range.
