About This Model

The Røde NT2-A is a large-diaphragm studio condenser microphone built around a 1-inch gold-sputtered, edge-terminated dual-diaphragm capsule. It offers three selectable polar patterns — cardioid, omnidirectional, and figure-8 — making it equally suited to solo vocals, acoustic instruments, room recording, and stereo techniques. Its self-noise of just 7.0 dB(A) and a maximum SPL handling of 147 dB (157 dB with pad engaged) give it a wide dynamic range across a full 20 Hz–20 kHz frequency response. Onboard controls include a three-position pad (0, -5, or -10 dB) and a three-position high-pass filter (flat, 40 Hz, or 80 Hz), all housed in a nickel-plated cast metal body with internal capsule shock mounting. It connects via balanced XLR and requires standard 48V phantom power.
