About This Model

The Pro-Ject Automat A1 is a fully automatic belt-drive turntable designed for straightforward, plug-and-play vinyl playback. It runs at both 33 and 45 RPM via a sub-platter belt drive, with wow and flutter measured at ±0.27% at 33 RPM and ±0.25% at 45 RPM. The 8.3" ultra-light-mass aluminium tonearm features a carbon fibre reinforced anti-magnetic headshell and comes factory-fitted with an Ortofon OM 10 cartridge with elliptical diamond stylus - tracking force and anti-skating are pre-adjusted at the factory. The aluminium platter includes a TPE damping ring, and the MDF plinth sits on silicon-damped isolation feet. A built-in switchable MM phono stage (34 dB gain, 47 kΩ/100 pF input impedance) means it connects directly to any line-level input without a separate preamp, while fixed high-quality RCA cables handle the output. Fully automatic start/stop operation makes it accessible without any manual tonearm handling.
