The MK Sound V-1250THX is a 12-inch sealed subwoofer built around an internal 150-watt amplifier, designed as part of the first THX Select speaker ensemble. Its front-firing 12-inch driver sits in a sealed enclosure, and the unit carries THX certification for rooms up to 2,000 cubic feet. Connectivity is via low-level inputs, while the rear panel provides a 0-to-180-degree phase switch and a variable output control marked with 0-dB, +3-dB, and Reference positions. A built-in 80-Hz/24-dB-per-octave low-pass filter can be bypassed via a toggle switch, allowing full-range signals from a surround processor to pass through directly - a practical advantage that avoids the cascading crossover interaction that can occur when a subwoofer's own filter compounds that of an outboard processor.
