About This Model

The M-Audio Code 49 is a USB MIDI keyboard controller built around 49 full-sized, semi-weighted, velocity-sensitive keys with aftertouch, making it a capable expressive tool for playing and performing. It has no internal sound engine — it sends MIDI data to external software or hardware — and is USB bus-powered, so no separate power adapter is needed. Beyond the keys, it offers 16 RGB backlit velocity-sensitive trigger pads, an assignable XY touchpad, 8 encoders, 9 faders, and 9 buttons for hands-on control of your DAW or instruments. The keyboard supports four independent zones for layering or splitting, and includes Mackie Control and HUI modes for deep DAW integration. Connectivity covers USB, 5-pin MIDI In and Out, and inputs for sustain and expression pedals, with a 6-digit LED display rounding out the feature set.
