About this model

The Korg Poly-800 is a 1983 programmable polyphonic synthesizer built around digitally controlled oscillators feeding an analog subtractive signal path, with square and pseudo-sawtooth waveforms plus a noise generator. It offers 8 voices in Whole mode or 4 voices in Double mode, where oscillators are stacked for a thicker sound. The 49 mini-keys are non-velocity-sensitive, and a joystick handles pitch bend and LFO modulation of the filter and oscillators. It stores 64 user patches, includes a built-in stereo chorus and a 256-step polyphonic sequencer, and has MIDI in/out, stereo line outputs, a headphone output and a pedal switch input. The lightweight plastic body has guitar strap pegs, so it can be worn like a keytar.
