About this model
The Focusrite Platinum VoiceMaster Pro is a single-channel microphone preamp and vocal processing unit built around a discrete Class-A mic preamp. The signal chain runs through an optical expander, Vintage Harmonics processor, optical compressor, tunable Tube Sound circuit, voice-optimised EQ and a de-esser, with the compressor and Vintage Harmonics stages able to swap positions. The four EQ bands are named for vocal work: Breath, Mid, Absence and Warmth. Inputs include rear XLR mic with phantom power, a front-panel instrument jack and a balanced line input, while outputs include balanced XLR and jack, a pre-de-esser XLR and an effects loop. Zero-latency monitoring, a six-LED input meter and a moving-coil output VU meter round out a unit designed for tracking vocals.
