About this model
The Electro-Voice SX80 is a two-way passive PA speaker made in the USA, built around an 8-inch woofer paired with a 1-inch pure titanium high-frequency driver (DH2005) crossed over at 2.2 kHz. It handles 175 watts long-term at 8 ohms, with a frequency response of 65 Hz to 20 kHz and a nominal sensitivity of 92 dB. The constant-directivity horn delivers controlled dispersion, while EV's Ring-Mode Decoupling (RMD) technology reduces enclosure resonance and improves vocal intelligibility - a practical advantage in live speech and music reinforcement. A built-in high-frequency protection circuit guards the titanium driver, and input is via push-pin terminals. The injection-molded polystyrene cabinet keeps the cabinet compact and lightweight at 22 lb.
