This Denon AVR-3803 is sold as spares or repairs. The buttons on left side of the front panel are pushed in, indicating impact damage to the chassis and not functional. It has not passed our functional test and no functions are warranted as working. We cannot advise whether the damage is limited to the fascia or extends to the internal boards, transformer mounting or front panel controls behind it, nor whether the unit is economically repairable. It also shows signs of previous use, including scratches, scuffs and general cosmetic wear. Please review all photos carefully, as they provide an accurate representation of the cosmetic condition of the product.

About This Model
The Denon AVR-3803 is a 7.1-channel AV receiver from Denon's early 2000s Precision Audio Component range, built in Japan during a period when the company's mid-range receivers were notably over-engineered for their price. Power output is rated at 110 watts per channel into 8 Ohms across front, centre and rear channels, with a frequency response of 10Hz to 100kHz, total harmonic distortion of 0.05% and a speaker load impedance range of 6 to 16 Ohms. The chassis measures 434 x 171 x 416mm and weighs 16.5kg, with AM and FM tuning, a moving-magnet phono input, coaxial and optical digital inputs, and component, composite and S-video connections. It carries sixteen Burr-Brown PCM-1791 24-bit/192kHz DACs in differential configuration across all eight channels, along with seven assignable digital inputs and two optical digital outputs, and decoding for DTS 96/24, DTS Neo:6, DTS-ES Discrete and Matrix 6.1, Dolby Digital Surround EX and Dolby Pro Logic II. It was also the first receiver in its class to offer component video conversion, and includes a Pure Direct mode with AL24 processing that shuts down the video circuitry and display to run the unit as a high-quality stereo amplifier. The model retains a strong reputation for build quality and reliability among users.
