About This Model

The Cyrus CD6s is a high-specification CD player built around a 24-bit differential DAC - the same unit found in the more expensive CD8x - paired with an integrated digital filter and a remote re-clocking circuit at the DAC threshold for effective jitter rejection. Its power supply draws heavily from CD8x technology, using a high-grade toroidal transformer with two separate secondary windings and eight stages of regulation to keep digital and analogue supplies fully isolated. The chassis is cast from lightweight magnesium alloy with a silver/copper outer skin baseplate, forming a Faraday cage that minimises microphonic interference. Outputs include dual stereo analogue audio and an optical S/PDIF digital output, with Cyrus MC-BUS system connectivity. The CD6s was named What Hi-Fi? CD Player of the Year for 2005-06, and owners have the option to return the unit to the factory for an upgrade to full CD8x specification.
