About this model
The Cambridge Audio CXC is a dedicated CD transport rather than a full CD player: it reads CD-DA discs and passes the digital signal to an external DAC or amplifier via S/PDIF coaxial (RCA) or TOSLINK optical outputs. It uses Cambridge Audio's single-speed S3 Servo disc drive, shared with the Azur 851C, designed for jitter rejection and error correction, and is powered by a linear toroidal transformer to keep high-frequency noise down. The acoustically dampened metal chassis has a black anodized aluminium fascia, a control bus connection for linking with other CX series components, and gapless playback support. It plays standard audio CDs only, not SACD, MP3, WMA or data discs.
A great opportunity to own a Cambridge Audio CXC at this price point.
