About this model
The Bowers & Wilkins 685 is a compact two-way, two-driver bass reflex standmount speaker. It pairs a 165mm woven Kevlar cone mid-woofer, fitted with a central phase plug, with a 25mm aluminium dome tweeter that uses the Nautilus-derived tube-loaded design. Crossover is at 4kHz, with a quoted frequency response of 42Hz to 50kHz (-6dB), 8Ω nominal impedance and 88dB sensitivity. Twin binding post pairs allow bi-wiring or bi-amping, and the cabinet can sit on stands, a shelf or be wall-mounted using its bracket. It measures 340mm x 198mm x 331mm and weighs 7.0kg.
