The Audio-Technica MB4k is a handheld cardioid condenser microphone built around a fixed-charge back-plate, permanently polarized capsule. It delivers a frequency response of 80–20,000 Hz and a signal-to-noise ratio of 70 dB, making it well suited to vocals and live performance use. A standout feature is its dual power capability: it runs on standard 11–52V phantom power — reaching a maximum SPL handling of 137 dB — or on a single 1.5V AA battery for situations where phantom power isn't available. Output is via an integral gold-plated 3-pin XLR connector, and the rugged all-metal body with soft-touch finish keeps weight to just 182 g. An on/off switch rounds out a practical, stage-ready feature set.
