About This Model

The AKG D5 is a dynamic handheld vocal microphone built around AKG's Laminated-Varimotion diaphragm and a supercardioid pickup pattern, delivering a tight, focused sound that rejects off-axis noise and feedback on stage. Its transducer assembly is shockmounted within an elastic suspension system, significantly reducing handling noise during live performance. The mic covers a frequency response of 70 Hz to 20,000 Hz and can handle sound pressure levels up to 156 dB, making it well suited to loud stage environments.
