About This Model

The Akai EIE Pro is a USB 2.0 audio interface built around a sturdy cast-aluminum chassis, designed for multi-source recording at up to 24-bit/96kHz resolution. It offers four XLR-¼" combo inputs with switchable mic, line, and guitar modes, four balanced ¼" outputs, four ¼" insert points, and a dedicated headphone output - making it well suited to small studio and home recording setups that need flexible routing. 48V phantom power is available for condenser microphones, controlled in pairs, and zero-latency monitoring is handled via an input/output balance control. Two illuminated analog VU meters with input/output switching give at-a-glance level feedback, while onboard 5-pin MIDI In/Out and a 3-port USB 2.0 hub add further connectivity without extra adapters. Compatible with both Windows and Mac via low-latency ASIO drivers.
