The result is 100 watts per channel into 8Ω, with the amplifier able to drive loads from 4Ω to 16Ω. A carefully designed current control circuit limits peak output to 8.5A and short-circuit current to 3.1A, protecting both transistors and connected speakers without the abruptness of conventional limiting. Input sensitivity is 0.5V for full output, and the circuit uses a single op-amp for low-distortion gain and DC correction.
