Seven MIDI inputs and seven MIDI outputs are mounted on the rear panel, with a further input and output on the front panel for quick access. Connection to a host computer is handled via RS232 (PC), RS422 (Mac serial), or USB. The AMT8 can also run in standalone patch mode — activated by holding the Panic button at startup — storing routing configurations in onboard EEPROM without any battery.
